He had just done a compression check - 190 on all but one which was 195 - I’d say within the static. I also inspected it’s spot in his garage - dry.

Wow congrats Jeff, that is awesome! Glad you found the right car.
Enjoy in good health and post more pics when you get the chance.

Wow! Congrats, & have fun with it. Looks like a great find. Now you have to get rid of that Mustang. 😀

The car is very classy looking and raw, IMO. Had to retrain my brain about what it feels like to drive an old car . I haven't ridden in another C2 where the driver (or me) was going WOT to gauge the performance difference - coming from the Mustang and even the RS4, I'm missing the horsepower quite a bit. I have mixed emotions about this but I kinda hope there's something wrong that can be remedied and will unleash some more HP but at the same time I don't want that potential expense
It's going to be a hard choice - my other thread was a GT350R, Audi RS4, 964 comparison - mainly because I'd need to get rid of one of them. Now that I have all 3, one still needs to go and I honestly don't know which one it would be. I'm going to spend some time sorting out the few things the RSA needs and drive it some. at 138k miles, I'm not worried about putting a few more on it.
The only BIG box that the RSA didn't check is - ...I'm no purist and I planned on modifying whatever car I got to my liking...I didn't expect that to be an RSA and now that I have it (again, I'm really no purist but..), this isn't a car I'd be willing to go crazy on..it needs to stay pretty much how it is. Maybe big reds...some wheels for fun...and just restoration stuff (not that it needs much, it seems!)

You feel like HP is lacking. Well it is. In a straight line certainly.
Now book a full day at the track with the RSA, and another, and another.
Then try that with the Audi or the Mustang, and report back.

Yes - and I thought I could find enough other interesting 964 treats to offset the HP deficit. I’ll keep looking but my knee-jerk reaction is that the RSA might not stay for very long.

In a world where 4000 lb sedans do 0-60 in under 4 seconds, you either appreciate it them for what they are, or you don't, lol.

My first few drives were also a bit underwhelming as well coming from the Spyder and having experienced other high horsepower cars. But one drive in the canyons, especially after suspension work and I find myself grabbing the keys more and more.
While the 964 doesn’t have huge horsepower or torque for that matter the lightweight and raw feel typically makes up for it. I also don’t find myself going slower than the rest of traffic, that includes any current generation muscle car. There is definitely a different approach to driving them though, you need to keep the RPM’s up and no need to slow down in the corners.
Get out and drive it and then decide.....

Need to get this AC looked at first. Compressor comes on with defrost button but not the snowflake button. Snowflake button does alluminate.
