Here’s the PPI info. I was pretty hung ho when I talked to the shop about it but now that I look at the laundry list of things - I’m a little concerned. Am I buying a 50k pile?

Most of those maintenance items are fairly easy fixes but it makes me wonder about the car...Things like loose coil wires, missing under panels, slave leaks, etc. make me wonder about the quality of the motor install which naturally leads to questioning the quality of the engine rebuild. Assuming you fix all of these known items you're around $60k into a C4 with what appears to be a rough interior and paint. It sounds like you want 2wd so throw another $5-10k on top for the conversion and you're at $65-70k for a Frankenstein C2/C4 . Personally I don't think the uniqueness and cool factor of the ROW warrant the premium in this case when you could buy a mint condition C2 for the same money which will likely be an appreciating asset. Selling a c2/c4 ROW down the road would require a niche buyer and likely won't be worth as much as the C2.

+1 and the readings suggest paintwork on most of the car.

The PPi was done at gulf performance. He still suggested that he thinks the car is priced fairly considering the engine rebuild and new clutch..overall mechanical condition of abs and awd was good. In his words - the most expensive parts of the car have been addressed.

And yes - paint meter showed some bondo on the quarter but they couldn’t detect and structure issues.

8-20 doesn't 100% mean it was bondo, and if they couldn't find structural damage don't get hung up on that specially that its just 1 panel. What would concern me is all the other little trinkets, kind of gives you an idea of how the car was maintained by previous owner- Why was the engine rebuilt and simple things like brake lines or gaskets not changed if they needed it? Use all this to your advantage in negotiation.

This car has been for sale on ebay for a few months so they should really want to move it.

So I’ll just put this out there - as I’m really on the fence here. Agreed to $50k. Go or no?

The PPI reported that the positives were the engine rebuild and the fact that the trans seemed solid, new clutch....

FWIW, I rationalized my purchase several years ago this way. Car seems solid with good PPI, but a few minor things noted, including an ok respray. I answer the question, If I had to dump another $10k (insert large sum here) in this car, would it still be worth it in the long run? In my case, the car has been nearly flawless, but ultimately I would have been ok with the extra expense since this was the 964 for me.

My only question is if this is a 50k car, what's a clean(er) one worth?
Is 50k the new normal?

I’m giving it some allowance for euro, no sunroof and silver.

Great advice here..... are you willing to spend more money if you have to and not sweat it? That is the question. Parts for the most part are not cheap, some are reasonable, but most are expensive. If you can do the repairs yourself you will save some money but there will probably be some that you can't. You can spend $5,000 pretty quickly with a bunch of little things which is okay..... just be okay with it as little things will come up. The motor rebuild is great I guess but I know some people have 200,000 plus on these cars with no rebuild. It all depends. Maybe I'm from a different school but I'd imagine most of us on here are not car investors and we own them because we want too. If you spend $5k or $10k more for car over 5 or 10 years you own does it matter? To some yes to some no. It's what you feel comfortable with. See below which it looks like it just sold in 1 day. How would it match up at $65k?

Tough decision to make, i inquired about that car back in January i think but ended up passing. Engine rebuild isn't everything, i like the white C4 on BAT , maybe wait and see what that one sells for.
