964 seats too high
The stock seats in my 964 coupe sit up very high. In addition to my 964, I own a 1987 3.2, a 1969 E and a 991.2 C2S. In all my other 911s, my driving position is lower and much better. In my 964 I sit high up like I’m driving an SUV, looking down at the dials from up high and with my head a centimeter from the ceiling. I’ve of course tried all the levers and buttons adjustments to get into the kind of driving position I’m able to attain in my other cars. But to no avail. My mechanic says the seats in each model are just “different” and my seats are what they are. Is everyone else’s experience that the 964 seats are higher than others? I would find that surprising.

I’m 6’ 4” and fit with the seat slightly canted back. I read a thread a while back where there was a theory that 4 way seats gave more headroom than 8 way seats. Not sure why. If I recall correctly the 964 seats are backwards compatible so if they are higher it would be because of the welded in mounting point height.

Can't help with this, I am only 5 '9" so mine seem fine with plenty of headroom. Stock 4 way comfort seats.

Your seats shouldn't sit higher than your 1987 3.2
Check one vs the other - and then if the 964 sears are any higher, pull one out and take a look. Maybe there is something blocking the seat from going farther down.

Sounds like you can't get down to the lowest setting. I have the 8-way power seat on the drivers side an power height with manual slider on the passenger side. Plenty of head room for me on and I'm 6ft tall.
