Arugos twin plate clutch - pics
Not mine but one of my recent Porsche 964 buddies. 12kg. I think it was in the $2000 range. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...60890803f.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...92c3a7dfb.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...64f3c4190.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...4f9b3c321.jpeg |
Nice How does the weight of the stock clutch and other common clutches compare to this 12kg one? Thx |
Has he installed this? If he has, how does it drive? Shift? Feel on release..etc, etc.??? I remember reading about four years ago that someone else tried a multiplate clutch system and they felt it was either off or on and was hard if not near impossible to drive on the street. I would really like this feed back because it makes so much sense (ie. I would like one,, but don't want to shell out the $$$ for something that will make my on occasion, daily driver lose its appeal....

Where does one purchase this clutch?
|
This is 12kg with the flywheel- not just the clutch. The engine is is still out of the car so no word on that yet. But I'll update when I hear about it. I can can not find any info in English. Here is the website: http://www.arugos-clutch.com You could try contacting them directly about a purchase. Pete |
I did hear that pedal pressure is not at all heavy. Hopefully we'll know more soon! The owner is setting up motec at the same time as well as all new struts so the car will be laid up for a couple more days at least. Pete |
Pete, that is what I had heard that the pedal pressure is actually less, however the bite at transition is much more difficult to master. It is supposed to work great for a track car where you nearly dump the clutch on take-off, but for city driving it is more difficult to modulate. I wish some one with real life experience would step forward and give their impression. I like the weight savings of the dual plate set-up. However, I also do not want to lose the drivability when I am on a cruise.

I’ve ridden in his car once since he put in the clutch and while I can’t comment on how heavy or light the clutch is I can say that it’s not on/off. It suits him well- but his car is raw to say the least- no carpets or insulation at all. Pete |
