A german 964...and a story
So Hi everyone !
My name is Max. I live in Munich.
So my Porsche-story is a bit longer. It all began in 1981, in which year my dad got his first Porsche. A 1979 928 in tabacco metallic with brown interior (Porsche "Exclusive" to match the interior) and golden phone-dial wheels. Will look for an old film negative one day to upload... So the virus had him back then. He owned the 928 till 1993/4. After that he got the 964 Cabrio (instead of a 964 Speedster WTL in red.... he still regrets that choice ) that he still own's to this day. My earliest memories of my life are in the "frunk" of that car or a few years later in the passenger seat... So many great memories in that car. Ever since that moment, I was infected aswell.. Then we bought the Cayenne S and the "disease" got even stronger... It also helped that my grandfather has a 928S4 since my dad infected him aswell. The Cayenne is my daily driver now. Driving the 964 for the first time was one of the most memorable experiences in my life ... I love that car to "death"... It's one of the things im never gonna sell....
The car was trubble free during the aprox 23 years that my dad has owned that car. It now has 150k km on it and isn't leaking a drop of oil First paint, first softtop, first engine, only second alternator ..
The colour code is 38A-P2.
Options list:
- C00 (Germany)
- M099 (special colour)
- M139 (Heated seat)
- M298 (unleaded fuel kit)
- M340 (Heated seat)
- M403 (Cup rims)
- M423 (Change and casette holder)
- M468 (Green windscreen)
Now a few pics after washing the car....
Have a good day
Greetings
Max
PS: Next on my wish list: 928 S4, maybee a 2013 Panamera 4S Manual or a Lexus RCF

I love the color Max! It’s really cool to hear the car has been in the family since new, that is not very common. It’s also nice to have all the history on the car since new.
Enjoy and post more pics when you get the chance.

A 964 looking in excellent condition Max. It is brilliant to hear that the car has stayed in the same family from new - hope it always does!
I spent most of last year working in Munich during the week then flying back home to the UK. The Porsche Zentrum Munich classic department blew me away. So much there from 906's to a 962! The service guys were very helpful with many of them owning older Porsches of their own. Hope you continue to enjoy the 964 - the Alps are a short drive away (lucky man).

Our car has always been maintained at the same shop in Munich.... A small-ish Porsche independent shop. But he does very good work. So good that a few people have their 959 "big service" done at his place...
His main forte these days is fixing cayenne's and transaxle porsches (which Porsche doesn't do well with from what I heared)...
And I have also been at the Porsche classic department and a friend had his 356 there... it's all nice until you see the service-bill... and how much they charge for a "work-hour"
Well the alps... from my place only reachable for a whole day endeavour and a nice traffic jam inbetween. But we do get some of the nicest roads... for example the Achenpass or the infamous "kesselbergstraße"

Love the world-wide audience this forum opens us up to! 964 experiences from around the world. So many different people and cultures, but same passion. Incredible really.
Amazing how these cars can become part of our families' lives. I love that my kids have grow up in the car and that we've shared so many fun drives together. #sportscartogether

Having great curvy roads for these cars makes the ownership a transcending experience. Judging by that last picture I would be in heaven driving those roads! Fortunately Cali has it’s share of great roads too

Hello Max and welcome..
Beautiful car and with an equally beautiful story of ownership.. These cars a very special to own and drive, and it must be even more special when its been in your family from new. I would love to pass on a similar Porsche love and passion to my own kids. I have a 964 Turbo as well as a 968 coupe with some nice options, and your mention of a quality independant Porsche workshop that specialises in transaxle cars caught my attention. There are just not many shops here in Denmark who knows these cars really well, so I was thinking of combining a trip to the Alps with a big service for the 968.
Could you reveal the name and location of the Porsche workshop you have used for many years.? Perhaps just in a PM..
