RM 964 frenzy......

Steamed the RM Auction. Any opinions on sales prices. Seemed a little soft to me. All the cars were in great shape from a top notch collector.
964 RS at $195k seemed a little cheap.

What's the consensus.

The 3.8 RS knocked it out of the park. Didn't see any other results yet.

The 3.8 RS was soft, one sold in Europe 2 weeks ago for 1.4m euro. All the RM cars were soft compared to Gooding which set records for 993RS and 964TSL.

$175k for a RSA is far from soft.
$195k for a real RS is really soft.

Didn't know this was soft.

Not comparing apples to oranges exactly, one an extremely low mile original example and the other, not so much, so I wouldn't apply that calculus without considering the full picture. Kind of weird the cars that did well and those that didn't. I figured that 3.8RS would go for more even with some deducts as its a very low mileage car, the 3.8 RS that sold for 1.4m euro (note I said EURO) recently was completely restored with much higher mileage.

Complete re paint on rs

This comment is not pointed to any one particular car but in general regarding the Amelia auctions.... Regarding pricing you have some examples that are extremely low mileage, finest in the world quality, very limited production vs. other examples that might be somewhat rare but can be much higher miles, track use, accidents, repaints, and other negative factors.....so you can end up with huge variation in prices...then mix in VERY expert buyers vs. a guy that thinks he knows what he is doing.....that will give you some idea of the situation and variation....I was there and I know the difference between the ranges of quality as cscrogham does as well....hope this helps! Thanks Ray Joseph

wrong rear bumper on that RS. I'm trying to become educated to make a purchase. What else is out of place on this car? I have seen a comment about the level of seat wear for 38,000mi being high. But that is subjective...

I posted this on another thread but I figured I will add it here as well.

I am beside myself that the RSA brought anywhere near this much. With fees all in at $190,400 is outrageous for a C2 with RS badging. This is not properly advertised and has aftermarket wheels, upgraded Big red brake with cross drilled rotors and a modified interior that is not factory or mentioned on the CofA.. Air pump is not original and the RS badging is not correctly located. It has no actual options other than paint and not even LSD. Someone way over paid for this car. I can only assume. they paid up for the odo reading and plan to spend a considerable amount to fix bring it back to original.

The 91 3.3l Turbo brought huge money at $173,600 all in and I am assuming the miles but I have ?? about it as well.

$1,655,000 for the RS 3.8 is huge money and I believe a record for the RS and closer to RSR money.

$654,000 for the 94 turbo S many ?? about this car no doubt underside was redone and the vin sticker on the transmission is in the wrong location which is a concern. I suspect there is more going on here as well hence the sale price.

Not sure why the 92 turbo S lightweight didn't sell. Although the midnight blue one at Gooding did bring $1,760,000 so could be only so many buyers for these at these prices.

The Japanese X83 flachbau did not sell and although incredibly rare is a an odd bird and I can see why.

The 1994 turbo 3.6 brought $324,000 and I have so many suspicions about this car. Clearly a lot of work was done to this car and is not 100% original how far it goes is hard to say without time to really pick it apart but IMO way overpaid for this,

Not sure why the 3.6RS only brought $218,400 but I am sure there are reasons. Someone mentioned complete respray amongst other things but I suspect this of some of these cars.

$1,270,000 for the 3.8RSR seems light but it is a limited use car.

Honestly most all the cars I looked at presented well to the average person but to my eye I find them questionable.
