1990 UK spec C2, with lighter seats but otherwise stock interior, with upgraded stereo, spare in the frunk, etc.

1345 kg - 2965 lbs (full tank, no driver)

Interesting factoid for those complaining that new cars are heavier, my 2018 GT3 (touring spec, carbon ceramic brakes, light weight buckets) is 1401 kg!

My 1990 C2 is at 1160 KG with little fuel... I am aiming to loose another 61 KG because I want the 1099KG - at least

Every kilo I removed made the car more fun... 1000KG and 350 HP would be a fantastic "aim/final spec"

Default Kg vs HP

I did an initial weight to HP comparison of the 964 to a new 911 S. As I wanted to know what the HP to weight difference was. Anyway to make a long story shorter I came up with an end number for weight reduction on the 964.
I figure that for every 10lbs/4.5kg removed you theoretically gain 1 HP. 100 lbs/45.5kg you theoretically gain 10 HP.
While this is far from specific, it can be a gauge to help determine potential performance if you set a weight goal.
while I have not significantly increased HP in my car I have dropped significant weight and am impressed with how performance has increased.

I'd have to loose a ton of weight to match up to the new 992

2019 992 curb weight 3,340–3,450 lbs
HP 444
7.5 lbs/hp

1989 964 C4 3,252 lbs (haven't weighed my car, got this from wiki)
HP 247ish
13.2 lbs/hp

Would have to lose over 1300 lbs! I've taken a little over 100 lbs out in the interior, ac delete, and rear seat delete. Not sure where else I can lose weight and not go crazy with body work.

Got my 89 c4 a little under 3000lbs.
Weighed in at 2989lbs w/o driver on stock seats and half tank.
Just got Recaro Pole positions so the car got even lighter. Hopefully 2,8xx lbs now.
weight mods: rs carpet, rs door cards, rear seats deleted, sound deading removed, fiberglass ducktail, volk te37 forged wheels.

Down to about 2,580 and counting. This weight was with a full frunk and roll bar (after deleting the sunroof and installing a CF frunk hood)

weighed mine a few days ago
started out with just a few mods at 2960.
after some "usual" weight reduction strategies came in at 2680 with 1/3 tank of fuel and about 20lbs of misc crap inside the car
not bad

Would be cool to see pictures of what these cars look like at this weight...
What still looks sleeper, what looks race car, cool mods, etc.

hahahah.....

I wonder how many fatties there are here spending a fortune to shave 20Kg of their car. I know I could do with losing a bit However, it's a lot easier spending the cash on some weight saving stuff than losing the equivalent weight

Definitely a good point! Shortly after buying my Spyder I went on a diet too, lost 20lbs and I feel great. So I guess focusing on lightweight cars can have side benefits too.

My sport seats take car of that. They start feel different if I gain any weight.
