Default Scammer Alert - Please Flag this CL Post!

Rennlisters, please watch out for the below scammer that has listed my car for sale on Craigslist and is asking for deposits. Please flag this post if you come across it. I appreciate it.

The seller is utilizing the email phoenixrisingww@gmail.com, and several phone numbers in Boulder CO and Pennsylvania. He goes by the name "Walter Lee," and "Young".

I have alerted my local authorities and Craigslist, but the ad does not seem to want to go down.

Thank you! - Garrett

If enough of us flag the CR advertisement I think they will take it down.

I wonder how many flags it takes. I contacted the police and they said they will try to figure out how to take it down.

Just worried some poor person is going to get scammed out of a deposit. Thanks for the response Jason!

Police will NEVER do anything- Your title should just ask people to FLAG the ad- Thats the only way it will come off. Had this issue last month with a 964 i was selling and asked people here and on pelican to flag and it was gone within an hour.

I have also been approached by phoenixrisingww@gmail.com using the name Arjen Bosman saying he is a European Porsche buyer and wants to buy my Porsche. He refers to his friend Diane who he refers to as a he for some reason, and Diane is believed to be the Micieli who was banned from Rennlist. I am new to the site and do not know what "flagging" is or how to do it.

Well, the CL post got taken down a while back (probably thanks to RL/Pelican members). If you search for a step by step process of how to flag, there are plenty of guidelines online. I forget the exact website I used to guide me through it, but there is information everywhere.

But, phoenixisrisingww@gmail.com is the email used by the scammer. He asks for pictures and information on the car, and then posts it up in another city on CL, demanding large down payments from interested parties. Two phone numbers he uses have Colorado and Connersville PA area codes, but he has most likely changed that by now.

Thanks for posting up about your encounter with him

For your information and on the subject be careful as they now use phone numbers to communicate via text and then even call you to make it look like it is a legit buyer. They are becoming smarter and smarter that’s why we need to be careful. I am also wary of putting want to buy ads on here because they will hack an old username and send you a PM and ask you to move it to email
