Oil cooler fan opinions wanted
We are considering changing our oil cooler fan. It is still working, but our A/C system cooler fan needed to be replaced this year so we thought we might take on this replacement in advance of it dying. There are are two options, a Porsche replacement or an OE product made by URO. Has anyone used the URO product? |
The oil cooler fan is critical to the health of your engine. If it were me, I would install a factory part. Think how long the first one lasted. They are expensive but have a good lifetime.

Personally I'd pass on URO (nicknamed U Replace Often :)) and go with good used Bosch over new URO.

Thanks Rob That was how we were leaning, but wondered about other opinions. Thanks very much. We always appreciate your input! Anna and Peter |

While you're in there, should the oil cooler relay be replaced also?

Jetta - Great point! You mean oil cooler resister, not relay, right?

Yes we agree on changing the resistor at the same time!

Check the foam bumper sealing wedges too. Often overlooked critical part for managing airflow through the coolers.
