Default Want a whaletail for my 964

I have a post on the Parts Classified forum, but.....I'm looking for a 930 whaletail for my 964. I like the 930 style but will consider other styles, even duck tails.

Thanks

You might try the 930 forums. The 964 turbo tail is different and rarely seen for sale here. Pelican sees them from time to time in their classified's although a fresh rubber always looks best.

Hello, not sure if you would be interested but I have a 964 RS America whale tail for sale on the bay. It comes with the RSA engine lid, brackets, turbo shocks and a jumper for the spoiler warning light. It is finished the Grand Prix White.

Grab a 930 part number Carrera wing and have the wiper hole shaved and the center vent paint matched to look like an RS America tail. Nearly impossible to tell the difference from the outside and thousands less than a real RSA wing.

You don’t want to do that. Read Adrian Straithers book, the 964 is about the slipperiest Car Porsche ever made. You will only **** up the aero and I guarantee you if you are seeking track speed, coaching and instruction will go much, much further than a tail

The winning Le Mans racers disagree with this assessment.

I have the RSA tail on my C2 and it made a considerable improvement at high speeds on tracks like VIR and WGI. Especially cross winds if you want more the 3.8RS bi wing adds downforce which is quite noticeable. You can buy RSA wings new from Porsche for around $2800 or so. They are sold as the Carrera wing but are supplied minus the hole for the wiper. You will still need to source a lid and brackets. The RSA wing does weigh 6 pounds more than the motorized stock lid.

Definietly read the book, but I couldn't disagree with this statement more. My 964 was borderline sketchy in triple digit speeds before I added a wing. I actually prefer the look without, but there is no way I want go to back to driving the car at speed without one.

Do you have the P/N for the no-wiper hole version handy? I've looked for it in the past without luck.
