Retro Wheels
HI....I am looking at getting a nice 92 -- 911 Carrera 2 cabriolet.... 5 speed car.
I don't like the looks of the factory wheels... they are 16X6 and 16 X8
there are several places that carry the Fuchs style wheels in the same size 16X6 and 16X8....
The size is the same overall but my question is....
What is the offset on a stock wheel for the '92 Carerra 2 cab?
Several places offer the Fuchs wheels in various sizes and offsets so I am thinking if I get the same size and offset in Fuchs I should be good to go....
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance

I am toying with a set of Fuchs as well but wouldn't want 16inch, they look lost on the car. Fuchfelge.com has real ones,, they are lighter but hugely more expensive. The best looking and best buy are at design911.com in the UK, heavier as they are cast not forged but also 1/3 of the price. I have been looking at 17inchs but they carry 18s as well. They also have real Fuchs for less than the USA sites after conversion into Sterling. Design911 is a cool site as, like TireRack, you enter your year and model and get specific choices for your car. Don't discount the value of center caps and lugs, which they include as a package when you buy the rims! No affiliation.

Thanks..... that is some good info and well worth considering........
Good point about the 16's It may be that the look of the 16's is contributing the goofy look on this car.......but I still don't care for the stock wheel overall.....
Thanks again...

If you are looking for excellent quality and looks, you might consider Fikse Wheels. They make wheels for Singer. They are based out of Vancouver and Brant the owner is an awesome guy to deal with. Take a look at my thread :
https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...formation.html
and you will see the wheels toward the last few pages.
I went with 17 X8/10 as they fit the overall stance of the car better than 16s. 18s are just to big and heavy and detract from the daily driving experience in my opinion. You can contact Fikse and tell him I sent you, or you can PM me and I can help with some logistics if you should decide to go that route. Best of luck. It's always a difficult process choosing the right wheel. Enjoy the process.

Design 911 sells the Fuchsfelge and the Braid wheels, both of which are great looking wheels. I really wanted a set of Zuff Fuchs (now made by Fikse) but I nearly had a cardiac arrest when I received their pricing. So I did some research and I landed on a set from Augment Wheels since I wanted something with a twist (concave face). Braid was a very close second choice, I saw them on a 964 and they look very good. Braid also can accommodate for custom offsets.
There are plenty of great choices out there, here is a thread to give you some inspiration https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...for-964-a.html

Dan Pye at Augment wheels is great to work with as well. I drove him bonkers last year over very small changes to a set of wheels for the cab i had, and he helped me get everything spot on.
Fwiw- i don't suggest driving the guy nuts. I'm just picky. Had i let him guide me from the start i would have been fine...
