When I first fired the car up I didn't notice any difference! I was so disappointed, however when I walked around to the back of the car It was another story! I love it! I already had a g pipe, which I didn't like that much, it was a real boom boom kind of Subaru sound but with the cat bypass it gives it a bit of a cackle and much more of a sound I'd expect from a Porsche. I'll also note that the engine feels a lot more responsive off idle and the sound at WOT is awesome!

Absolutely loving the new ride height and the cat bypass however the car seems to blow a lot of smoke since I put the cat bypass on. I've read that a steve wong chip will sort this so I'll put that on the list.

Just thought I'd add these pics and information to this thread in case someone is reading this in years to come and wonders how the car got lower.

I recently had a lot of smoke coming from under the car when pulling up to a stop and I thought it was time I find out what oil leaks I have and see if I can fix them, so I spent 5 hours under the car yesterday with 5 cans of degreaser, various toothbrushes and dust brushes! Not clean to dingo spec but clean enough to see what's leaking. Once I sort the leaks I'll clean it up good.

I found both lower valve covers to be leaking, which is no problem as I have the seals kit and I'm getting them powder coated next week along with my engine tins.

Seals kit

Both lower valve covers leaking

The only other leak was in the pictures below, which is near one of the heads, I'm guessing it cant be fixed in the car, but I'd like to hear from anyone what the problem may be.

Very minor weeping from here

Thanks for reading

No have already put those on with the new cat bypass. These ones are about 3" long. They might have put them in by mistake?

Just thinking about it they actually look like the 2 bolts for the heater blower... which seems weird they would supply new ones!

If anyone is interested I am at my first stop on a 3 day trip in the 964. Doing approx 1400km on the south island of nz. Pictures don't do the roads and scenery justice, it's absolutely stunning.

Near castle hill

Travelling through the otira viaduct near Arthur's pass nz

The car is running like a dream, only drama was a large chip in my windscreen from a rock of a passing car, I was thinking it would be a replacement when I got back home but i stopped into a windscreen place as we were reaching our destination for the night to see if they could repair it. They did an awesome job and I'll keep the windscreen in.

Rainy afternoon coming into the west coast, can see my chipped windscreen on the right.

Tried to take a picture of the repair but it's barely noticable! Have a 450km drive tomorrow, down the west coast. Really looking forward to it!
