Do the mud flaps require drilling to install or do they utilize existing holes? Yes I’m one of the oddballs that actually likes them!

Great drive and story! We just went a couple of months to SB for the weekend with family. Weather is amazing on the coastal side. Thanks for sharing the experience and nice Targa!

Hey do you want those mud flaps? i just got them taken off , you can have them for free- if your in CA you can even come pick them up i'll tell my mechanic to save them. They were on with rivets that they had to drill out.

Default A great trip !

On Hwy. 1 So. of San Fran.
Did a similar adventure in 2013 when I got my '92 !
Picked it up at the airport in Santa Rosa and drove South to the OC with an overnight stop in Carmel !

Tarek thank you for the offer! Since they’re held on by rivets I’ll pass as I don’t want to mess with anything on the cars body. Might be good for someone who’s making an off road 964.

I have always wanted to do this drive in a 911. It's a spiritual experience.

Well, the mud flaps went to member LPMM, enjoy, they should arrive to you by Saturday. I like the car now much better without them, so far took mud flaps off, changed the gear shift boot/**** & this weekend going to refresh the seats, we will see how that turns out, then mid January she will be up for sale!

Great photos, thanks for sharing. They help give me more motivation to get my Targa finished, and perhaps de-tinted if I can get the HVAC to work well.

Removing the tint is a MUST, i had a 1990 with tint and it just didn't look right, once i removed the tint the car regained its look again. Not sure why especially on these cars tint makes such a big diff in the look but it does

One of the benefits of having the Targa is the large glass rear window that gives the affect of being in a convertible but with more protection from wind. It also gives the exterior a unique look which isn’t duplicated by any other car in the world. Adding tint negates these benefits IMHO.

Of course that glass is also heavy which is the downside of owning a Targa....but it’s worth it!

The tint had been added since (at the time) the HVAC was struggling in the Florida heat & humidity. If I can get that resolved, then I'll go ahead with removal. And I just had the vent windows redone, too.

Send us a before & after pic after removing the tint. ps: i paid $150 for the removal on the 1990 Targa i had- the car had rear defroster and the "lines" were not effected at all by tint removal
