Default Trickle Charger

What kind of trickle charger do you all use for your 964? 6v or 12v?

Do you plug it directly to the battery or through the cigarette lighter plug. I have a 991 GT3 and I use it through (CTEK) the cigarette plug with no issues.

Thanks in advance.

I use the original Charge-o-mat maintainer. Battery and car have done just 14k miles in 7 years, yet the battery is still strong as a horse.

Never heard of a 6v maintainer

I am ashamed to say that due to personal issues I drove the 964 less than 500 miles per year the last 3 years. I have a 12V Battery MINDer and it's been solid with no issues keeping the battery in top shape.

Porsche rebrands this one and offers it as a markup. I use it on all of my cars.

I use the same battery minder as above although I connected a pigtail to my battery which stays in the car at all times. When I want to charge I pop the hood, connect via quick connect adaptors and leave the hood open slightly so the frunk light shuts off. It usually takes a day to charge up and I disconnect.

Battery tender on my 991 and 964 - both directly to the battery.

I pop the hood on the 964 and plug it in while it is parked in the garage. I have unplugged the little light in the frunk to avoid any possible discharging.

This is the best. Slow and steady charge with auto trickle charge. Inexpensive and great quality. Mine works perfectly. Got the quick connect on. Don’t use it much right now because I’ve been driving the car but great product.

This. Served my 964/944/987 well.
