Tiptronic upgrade, improvement
Hi guys,
I have a c2 tiptronic, works totally fine but i was wondering if there is any chance to make it better?
Different TCU? To make the shifts faster or change between the programs manually? Create own program?
Any ideas/tips welcome.
Thanks

Burning Brakes
Nope. None. I asked the same question and searched a bunch.
Just leave it alone and enjoy it.
If you find an upgrade let me know.
Id love to get it to blip the throttle when I down shift in manual mode.

It is from 1990, I just wanted to switch between the programs manually so I could use it in faster mode all the time.
Otherwise I love it, I dont regret that I decided on the tip.

If you put the hammer down, it goes to the highest performance map, which is where the left foot braking comes it. Keep on the gas, whilst braking to keep it in the map. Later cars are better, but with some practice you can get more out of your Tip'r.
IIRC that car has 5 different maps for the transmission, relational to throttle position, on board G meter, and other input sources.
If you like the early Tip, do not, DO NOT drive any newer Tip car! They have continually improved them, and in a lighter car like a Boxster, is serious fun. Once you spend some time with it, it practially reads your mind and in most cases shifts better than you can.
