Singer/Williams Engineering Engine Development

Wow, interesting. Really interesting. It makes total logical sense that project cars sell for less than their cost to build, but everyone said that these SVD cars were different and the waitlist and lead time to have a bespoke car "commissioned" was so long, they couldn't lose value.

I guess we now know why Singer has been buying up all the 964 blocks ...impressive on the collaborative effort, would love to know more about the development and details of the motor. That being said, I am more interested in what Robert has in store with his bespoke development.
I have a question. Isn't the exhaust too close to the carbon fiber bodywork?

If you look at the exhaust pipe it appears to be double walled providing some heat insulation. The double wall also possibly provides noise reduction as well as insulation. This would explain the loops up into the wheel wells, i.e., extra length for added noise reduction.

Did a little bit of design work on this and got to hear for the first time the engine run today.
Sounds like no flat 6 engine I've ever heard before and I mean that it a good way.
Hard to describe the sound other than it has a very purposeful note to it

Sure, there's a wait, but it makes total sense to me. I'd love to get someone else's for 60% of cost, but I don't think you'll ever see one publicly listed for less than a ton. Have to stumble into it. I do plan to try and commission my own within 5 years. Love everything they're doing!

I know of a couple of singers that sold for more than original build price

I am pretty dumb about these exhausts...
Why the vertical inverted "U" in the exhaust piping on either side?
Seems like added flow resistance, given angles, tortuosity, and distance.
Thanks

This engine sounds amazing initially reminded me of a revvy 6.1 ltr NA V12 McLaren F1 engine

What do you think about performance's exhaust wihth X - pipes? I've see a lot of thread about the superiority of h-pipes for Porsche flat six.
