Tonight I completed my bleeding procedure by bleeding the locks - the longitudinal and lateral locks of the PDAS system using the Hammer. I thought I'd share the procedure if anyone was interested!!! It's really easy - as long as you've got a Hammer, of course!

Here's the mythical device (bigger than I thought!)...

Here it shows the cord going to the diagnostic port on the passenger side...

I hooked up my new pressure bleeder (LOVE IT!), pressurized to 20psi after pinching off the overflow line, then fired up the Hammer.

Here's the lateral lock by the way. (sorry for the poor focus)....

Ok, here's after the Hammer gets started up...

here the Hammer is downloading my car's info stored in the various systems...

Here's where you can see the various systems - notice the # sign before my Heater System - there were 6 error codes!!!! I am not sure why - maybe from the previous owner, as everything that had an error worked fine. So I cleared the error codes - we'll have to see if they come back!

After selecting the PDAS system, now I select the Drive Links menu (I had no error codes for the PDAS that were stored)...

Now choose the Bleed selection...

The Hammer basically walks you through the process from here on out - that's what makes it so simple; just read the menus and push the buttons!

Here is where I open the bleeder valve on one of the locks (lateral lock first, then repeat for longitudinal lock)...

push 1 to bleed (to make the solenoid shoot out fluid), then when the fluid comes out blue (remember I started with yellow fluid, and bled each lock until the ATE blue fluid) - press 3 to stop the pulsing...

After bleeding, the Hammer will decrease the pressure in the system after my command!
