Humming fuel pump solved, costs....50 cents
 

Today I had the idea to solve the humming sound of the fuel pump. I was thinking how to do this and what the cause of the humming was. I suspecter metal to metal contact from the pump, and I found the following cause.....

The bolts go thru a rubber and inside the rubber is a metal peice to prevent over tightning the installation of the pump. This is metal to metal contact to the bracket who is welded to the body. I removed the metal parts and put some rubber [fuel hose] pieces in stead of those. Now we have no metal to metal contact which brings sound to the body. It works........

To remove the pump out of his bracket is easy, just remove the protection plate and 3 bolts......

This is the result. Use some Loctite on the bolts to prevent running loose.

Fixed in 1/2 an hour.........

Sound is gone for at least 75 % less. Worth a try for your car if you have this problem.
