Humming fuel pump solved, costs....50 cents

Today I had the idea to solve the humming sound of the fuel pump. I was thinking how to do this and what the cause of the humming was. I suspecter metal to metal contact from the pump, and I found the following cause.....
The bolts go thru a rubber and inside the rubber is a metal peice to prevent over tightning the installation of the pump. This is metal to metal contact to the bracket who is welded to the body. I removed the metal parts and put some rubber [fuel hose] pieces in stead of those. Now we have no metal to metal contact which brings sound to the body. It works........ |
To remove the pump out of his bracket is easy, just remove the protection plate and 3 bolts......

This is the result. Use some Loctite on the bolts to prevent running loose.
