Hi All, I have just relocate from Virgina to Copley - OH, and I am looking to see if any of you are around and could also inform me about a good local independant shop to take my 951.

I'm in the marion ohio area, probably about 1:40 south of you. Depending on what you need done I can probably beat the local indy shop rates by a decent amount..... it's always cheaper to do it yourself

I'm an individual. I do vehicle dynamics engineering / chassis tuning for a living, and I've been working on 944s for about 15 years.
Steinels has a VERY good reputation, however I have no first hand experience with them. My wild guess is I could beat their labor rates by 50% depending on the job.
It's been more than a decade since i've had a shop do any work for me, but the only place I've ever let work on a porsche for me is The North End Wrench in Columbus (even further from you unfortunately). I've sent several people there over the years, and they've always been treated fairly.
If you ever feel like taking a drive, you're welcome to head down my way and get a baseline on your car, and go for a spin the the 951 race car that we've been developing.... Happy to take a look at it (no charge), and give you an opinion on where you're at before you shop in your area.

They have 5 star reviews on Google but only 3.5 stars on Yelp. It wouldn't hurt to inquire about the 951 to see if they're familiar with them. Otherwise, Steinel's will be your best bet.

Hi Guys, i just took my car to Steinels, and Whaoo, they are great lot of knowledge, super professional and they do an amazing job to say the less!
All my two thumbs up for Eric and his team, it has been a long time i have not felt my 951 so tight after a good service, not to mention that they are honest price wise.
Thanks Eric and the team! Keep the hard work on those 944!

Chris Moore is the best in NE Ohio. His shop is Autobahn Extremist in Avon Lake, OH.

He has worked on my (former) 928 and 88 951 for over 20yrs. and does great work. Chris has a special attention to detail. He also owns multiple Porsche models himself including 944/951/911.
