Default ATE Super Blue

Need to add 2-3 oz. of brake fluid to reservoir. Vehicle has Super Blue and wondering if it is OK to add Pentosin Super DOT 4.

Probably would be okay, but ATE type 200 is the same thing as super blue without the dye if you were looking for the exact same stuff.

Adding pentosin will be fine. However, Conti stopped importing super blue in 2013. That means your brake fluid is likely at least 4 years old. Just change it all to pentosin.

Strongly recommend changing all the fluid. Plus, you won't be able to later use any remaining fluid from the new container you top off from. I like the ATE gold just fine and it has done very well in the times I've attended an HPDE at VIR.

why's that? I currently run ATE 200, the super blue equivalent and I've never had any issues in over heating etc. Just curious as to why the SRF is so much better?

Yep Ate Typ200 "Super Gold" is the SAME as the Super Blue, but is amber in color which meets U.S. regulations: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...er=706232-GOLD
