Totally stock 75K mile 951 - dual port wastegate?
I would love a little guidance from any of you regarding modding my completely stock 951. Essentially, I am considering replacing the stock waste-gate for a Lindsey dual port, but am having difficulties deviating from keeping the car completely stock. Should I just do the shims instead? I can tell that the turbo falls off at higher RPM's and would like the car to be a little quicker. The car does not have a catalytic converter either. I don't want to do anything that will detract from the cars value if I decide to sell it. Thanks for any advice. I don't consider performance chips to be a problem because those are so easily replaceable.

Yea, I thought that too at one time. Just a dual port wastegate is all I wanted. Still don't have one, modified my LR single port to a dual. Then it began, the endless bank account draining process on the next part I need. Just shim the waste gate, install 3 bar FPR, and chips, maybe a boost enhancer. That wakes up the car a little without breaking the bank. The engine bay can easily suck $30,000 right out of your possession real quick. I recommend you perform regular maintenance and you'll have a nice stock 951 that doesn't drain your account.

Be VERY careful with a dual port, I made the mistake of turning mine all the way "Wrong" The Lindsey Dual port is opposite my Tial Dual port and I thougt I had it all the way Down and then was going to slowly adjust up.. Wrong... I had it all the way up mashed the gas and the car hit so hard it wasnt funny... Past 25 PSI on my Gauge.. Buried it... So Now I have to put another headgasket on it and I am looking at possibly a piston.. and It only took about 3 seconds to do destroy it all....
My other car has the "Jet" and boost enhancer... Love it...

I would say on a completely stock car, this "upgrade" will not do you any good.
I have a tial wastegate, exhaust, and a chip and I feel the wastegate did not help a tremendous amount. It has made it a touch smoother and the boost hits a touch earlier.

I recently upgraded to the LR dual port WG and ditched the cycling valve for an electronic boost controller.
I'm strongly considering running the WG as a single port and going back to the cycling valve (Or LR boost manual boost control).
The car seemed to hit boost much harder and earlier when "stock" (WG shims, chips, 3bar regulator).

Guys, thanks for the advice. I think the shims, 3.0 bar FPR, and boost enhancer makes the most sense and will keep the vehicle still very stock.
GPA951s - what is the "Jet" that you refer to?

Humboldtgrin - Sorry, I didn't mention the car came with chips, I think they are Lindsey Racing. Definitely agree that is a necessary upgrade

All of the mods mentioned are bolt on and therefore reversible if and when the times comes to sell.
In the mean time you can enjoy some enhanced performance.

Dont bother with the boost enhancer. just get a dual port wastegate.
I had chips, AFM delete and a TiAL 38mm gate and the car use to boggy.

What chips are you guys using? The PO supplied a set of autothority chips with my car but I have yet to install them. Should I give it a shot or go another route? ('86 951)

I just installed the Lindsay Racing (Rogue Tuning) A-Tune. It's supposed to offer better performance at part-throttle and partial boost due to 3D maps (With added MAP sensor, it knows actual boost). I wanted to maintain a stock appearance (Airbox and AFM) vs going the MAF and cone filter route.
