I put my car back together over the last couple of evenings. She's running well now. The combination of corrected balance shaft phase and rebuilt torque tube has delivered the expected quiet and smooth returns. The vibration I'd felt before hand has been eliminated. Also noteworthy is the Only944 needle bearing shifter which has made an unexpected improvement in selection of reverse gear which has been a bit problematic in the past. Since the shifter has also eliminated some play between teh shifter and shifter rod I'm sure it is also contributing to the improved quietness.

I compiled a video of the rebuild and re-install here for anyone that might need it in the future.

Thanks Paul. Yeah it turned out to be one of those jobs that required some creative thinking to go forwards without creating more problems

I notice the glass of red wine on the workbench. What do you recommend for torque tube work? I'm thinking a Pinot Noir, but would value you input, Kelly Anne.

Too funny. I would have thought a cheap red with Tramadol for the way that project shaped up.

On the contrary, completing that job warrants good French Champagne. As it happens it was a decent Aussie Shiraz on the occasion in question.

Having just completed a track day with the post-work car, I can say it feels great & smooth!

Very much agree!

Kelly Anne, may we use a picture of your car on our website? Want to show off our customer's rides since we do have some interesting projects come along. Your car is definitely a nice piece of kit!

Thank you,
Constantine

Hi Constantine, no problem at all. Thank you for the compliment. It's been a while since she featured on a vendors web site. Elephant Racing used her pic for a year or two. Given your most helpul advice along the way I'm more than happy to endorse what you do and share my positive experience of your Super-bearings.
