Default Hard block question for sleeved hybrid stroker

Hi all,
I am hoping my fellow Rennlist erst can help me. I have been following Sid and Sean's hybrid builds for a while and in trying to duplicate a similar setup for my car. I took the engine out to check rod bearings and reseal and the Machine Shop said piston to wall clearance was over spec rather than bore out to next piston size I have decided to duplicate the 2.85 L hybrid stroker build. I am at the point I want to fill the water jackets but am unsure what to do with the water pump outlets in the front of the engine I could not find a definitive picture to show which court was blocked and which was open as well as other ports that may be filled with the block filler. My best understanding is to block the lower port on the water pump side of the block but to leave the middle port open and plug with paper towels.
Please let me know the best way to proceed with the hard block and what to avoid if needed?

Have you considered over sized rings instead, would be significantly cheaper.

You may want to call someone like Lindsey Racing to see what your options are.

Default Thanks for your answer

Thank you Rlm328 for your response. I did call Dave at Lindsey racing after receiving my measurements from the machine shop. The cost to go to oversized pistons 100.5mm and rebuild stock Rarst rods with machining was comparable to the cost of the 2.85l offset grinding design with lighter pistons and mee modern rod design.
That was why I decided to duplicate the stroker build. I still haven t seend a picture of the filled block from the front water pump area.

I'm also in Houston and have a '86 951 block if you want it for free, just as a backup...it needs machining (maybe 0.5mm overbore) and a hot tank bath. Still has the crank and balance shafts installed.

That would be great. I am in the northwest near Cypress and work at the Audi dealer at i10 and hwy 6. I have been looking at some of your posts in the last week or two as I'm considering moving to vems from motronic. I can pm my contact info.

Nice, I work at Technip right next to the Porsche dealer at I10 and Kirkwood, 2 streets away. Surprised you haven't seen me commuting in the NA! Let me know if you're ever up to grab a lunch somewhere local.

Sure! How about tomorrow for lunch anytime between 11 and 1? Any of the restaurants across the street from you seem interesting? It takes me about 5 minutes to get over there.

You do not block any water ports on the front of the engine. I used wet paper towels at the front to keep the block filler contained to the deck. I did block the small hole to the oil filter housing so as to keep water from mixing with oil at the housing.

I am doing another block in a couple weeks and will get some pics.
