Default Sluggish off the line in my 951

So when I take off from a stop the car feels like there is no HP. I make full boost a high rpm. Runs great otherwise. Mid throttle response is good too. All my sensors have been replaced and it idles great. What would be some simple things to test or look at?

Timing belt?

is this a sudden change or has it always been like that?
what RPM do you get boost at WOT? need more info.

theres not a ton of low end with 8:1 compression and the 951 gearbox but there is more than enough to take off easily with light throttle.

944 timing belts dont really slip and slow you down - they slip and you bend valves. so your belt is fine, unless it was actually set wrong the last time you had a belt job.

The belts are relatively new. I just did a retention a few hundred miles ago. I've inserted some pics showing TDC from underneath on the bell housings and the mark on the timing belt. I mean the mark on the timing belt is not perfectly aligned but that is the best I could get it.

Hard to say when this started or if it was all of a sudden. I replaced my clutch about 6 months ago - the clutch had hot spots from the previous owner so it was never smooth until after the clutch change. I did the job myself, and had no real issues. I can take off under light throttle but if I try to scoot away with a bit more authority it just seems to go flat until 3-3.5k rpm. I've never driven another 951 so I don't have any comparisons.

for a 2.5L stock 951 it seems pretty normal, it's called turbo lag, with no boost off the line a civic will walk away from you, once on boost that's another story

I have one of those Subarus too! I'm on my fourth one right now, but it's only a BRZ, the other three were 2 WRX's and and the 3rd was a heavily moddified STI, and while the BRZ certainly won't win any drag races, on autocross course that might be another story! That car is all about the twisties!

Upgrade to Rogue Tuning M-Tune via Lindsey Racing and your power delivery will be much more linear.

Hey check your bypass valve(diverter valve), mine was leaking and did the same thing.
