No ... I didn't have a pic of mine to hand, so grabbed a 'stock' photo just to show the wheel. Mine looks identical but the odo reads 132,000km

so, the monte carlo arrived and it looks quite good, but the install is proving difficult. no matter how i connect the wires, i can't get the horn to work and i think it might be related to the horn unit itself. if anyone has a monte carlo, please let me know how the horn installs into the steering wheel. mine never fully engages and can just be lifted right back out. without the wire on the horn contacting the metal ring (between the steering wheel and hub), the horn won't sound. i installed the prototipo on my carrera and everything worked flawlessly, but this horn is shaped differently. any help would be great.

Interesting...have not seen a sport wheel with Porsche embossed in the lower half, or with deviated stitching.

Was this custom ordered? From where?

Some horn require different mounting methods. I don't buy new steering wheels but i guess it should be mentioned in the manual coming with the wheel. If you look at your third pic, you also see the silver ring behind your wheel has an wiring attachement possiblity. And if the horn doesn't fit, you either need a different ring or a different horn button. A bit lame if i came with the wheel and doesn't fit...

So, my car is an '89 951, dual airbags, which aftermarket wheel will fit? thanks And in addition to losing the driver side airbag, the passenger side will be disabled, what do I tell the wife?

I'm certain I've read on other car forums that removing the airbags in a car is a federal offense, which would invalidate insurance. Anyone confirm this?

Tell her for her safety you disabled the 30 year old explosive device waiting to go off in her face. I haven't removed mine yet but that's how I'd frame it.

Got my steering wheel refurbished with alcantara. The leather was two slippery with glows that I have to use when going on the race track.
