Default Recaro Pole Position/Profi

A few months ago I picked up a pair of stock Sport seats with full power and heat. I love the way the big bolsters look and they are extremely comfortable. But after weighing them, they come in at 51 lbs each! I don't plan on getting rid of them anytime soon - especially because of the amazing deal I got on them, but I've been playing with the idea of grabbing a pair of Recaro Pole Position or Profi's (closer to 15lbs each)

1. Anyone have any experience with Recaros in their 951?
2. Are they a direct fit to the 951 or would it require drilling etc.

Going for the 968 CS look.

A few people run them around here. very nice looking seats.
I suggest you find a dealer who sells them and sit in them yourself before buying

Agreed. Would love to try them out. Looks like the closest dealer to Philly is Redline Speed Worx in NJ.

I've got them in my car. Will try to get some pictures. They are really lightweight compared to the stock seats.

The shoulder harness holes are really low on those seats. Unless you're 5'8" or shorter you won't fit in them to be able to use harnesses. You need the Recaro SPG XL's at that point...

fyi the profis from 2013 or so onward had their FIA approvals pulled due to crash failures. if you have or purchase a used set that fills the criteria, RECARO will send you a new set for your seats!!! I bought brand new used ones that met this criteria and got brand new certified replacments.

Damn.. Those look great. Do they still sell these with the painted shells? I'd love to get a pair in guards red. Backup would be standard Recaro SPG in black. Any solid online retailers or better off making the drive to a dealer?

Considering selling my mint all original Sport Seats (full heat and power) to fund these.

These had black backs when I got them. I masked off the stickers and peeled back the covers. A buddy taped everything off and shot the backs with Alpine White paint to match. They turned out pretty nice. I had to fab up some steel to go under the seat to provide a place to mount the seat belt receiver. Could also attach a sub belt to it if I switch to a five point harness.

Josh, I know these are Pole Positions and I'm looking at Profi's but were the recaro hardware/rails a straight fit to the factory holes in the floorboard? I'm about to pull the trigger but don't want to do any modification/drilling to mount them.

I didn't have to do any drilling - bolted right in.

Josh - reviving this thread. Curious where you got the aftermarket white seatbelts/cost? Considering red to match my paint.
