Rhen I have a copy of the original shipping documents for our cars being imported into the US. I can send them to you when I get back home in a few weeks.

I recently picked up an 1986 951 that was sold in 10/85 and iirc built in 9/85. Would this car have been delivered with fuchs? It has oval dash and bigger brakes..

Standard 1986 was with Phone Dials. Fuchs were an available option.

Turbopower,

Can you check your engine block code and report back?

If you'd like artwork for the correct Escort logo, let me know.

Thanks centerpuch, yes I would. However this is the logo as it was mandated by the Playboy Escort Cup series, who sent them to the participants. I have the cover letter stating where they were to be placed on the cars. You'll notice that even the SCCA logos are vintage.

Another odd logo on this car is the Tag Huer watch logo on the quarter windows. It has no green "Tag" element above the red.

Tag bought a majority stack in Heuer in 1985, so the logo would have been pre-merger.

Did any of those 1985 Turbos come with F as year letter in the VIN number, or did they all come with G as then indicating 1986 model? Meaning they then were all 1986 models, just some were sold early in 1985?

turbopower - what month was it built?

Anyone know what month in 1985 they switched from F to G? What is the earliest (month/date) 1986 model year "G" VIN car?
