That issue was due to the fact that they were using standard dino oil for the duration of the "included service" at too high of a maintenance interval. They had to change over to synthetic due to sludge issues. Once they started using synthetic I don't recall it being an issue. So I don't see the engine design as the fault in this case.
I was a Porsche tech at a Porsche/Audi dealer during part of that time and saw them come in every day. It was very interesting to see how bad some of these engines were sludged up.

Interesting overview of 1.8T oiling system and its achilles' heel(s).

Motorwerks so far seems to be vaporware at this point, aside from their photo cars...
can't get a response from them about anything, and it's not just me inquiring...
really, really want this to work and be an easily-doable/viable swap kit.
maybe they aren't the ones to make it happen?

maybe they just have an instagram guy and a wrench guy so nobody answers inquiries...
i've learned (or just decided) that if i can't get a response within a week, somebody REALLY doesn't want my money.

For those asking, we are only doing in-house builds.
P.S. The vaporware makes it faster ... oh wait, that's just the meth injection.

Thanks for chiming in.
I have seen the photos and videos, and they have only added excitement...
Any possibility of a DIY kit in the future?
Sending a car off to GA or wherever you are is a non-starter.
