E85 Setups: What's yours?
Thinking about E85 for my turbo project and contemplating the necessary fuel system changes.
What's your experience with >450 hp? What are must do's vs. nice to do's?
Thanks

Hey Gene - I would check out a couple of build threads for all of the details you need. Most are running E85 with an M-tune.
Refresh951 - http://refresh951.com is a good external source too

This is a pretty general question and there are lots of routes. Refresh951 recently posted a stroker how-to thread too...

Big injectors min 80lb.3 bar fpr . Minimum a 044 Bosch pump. Vitesse or rouge chipset or standalone with right tune and flexfuel sensor. I noticed that I gained power with better stronger spark as well. My 044 did not deliver enough fuel after about 23 psi. Bigger turbo.

E85 and aluminum have documented compatibility issues (which may be overstated, draw your own conclusion from the google results), steel is ok.
Here's how I'm doing mine, a lot is in place already but waiting on the AN stuff until I finalize all the fittings I'll need for some other projects I'm doing. https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...tfe-lines.html
Assuming you're running an ECU that's capable, flex fuel sensor is the way to go IMO. E85 actual ethanol % changes seasonally and varies on each fillup. You want your tune to account for that by trimming timing and fuel, especially at those power levels.

Make sure you use USB 2.0 with Infinity. There's an issue with USB 3.0
Replacing the stock hardline is a nice upgrade, but not absolutely needed. A Bosch 044 will support approx 475 RWHP on E85. It's also nice to raise the compression ratio in your engine when using E85 since the broad, flat combustion chamber tends to burn slowly.

Empty Your fueltank and replace the screen and do the Lindsey mod on a new fuel filter. If you plan to run a bigger pump than the 044 you would want bigger lines as some of those pumps produce to much heat to the fuel with restriction if not running a digital controller. My car ran very nicely with e85

I'm running a Rouge Tuning MAF with a toggle switch for E85, with no other modifications. I understand that with time, E85 dries out your rubber seals and corrodes fuel lines... I think that switching to 93 octane every 2 or 3 tanks might undo that. I also dont leave E85 in the fuel system for an extended amount of time. When I parked my car in the garage for the winter, I made sure it had a full tank of 93 and some fuel stabilizer.
I understand that for bigger power that you'll need more fueling, but so far with a K27/8 turbo running at 18-20 psi, a vitesse camshaft, and a 3" exhaust, my afrs are safe. I dont know how much power the car makes, but I destroyed an E92 M3 ( V8 ) on a highway run recently.
