Gents and Ladies, i've made a few posts on my recent '89 951 and everyone has been helpful. i purchased the car last week in person sight unseen yes internet and phone conversation and a local PPI by folks chosen by seller, turns out with a going over up here (Eastern PA), the car checked out perfect, except needs engine mounts, so in a way i'm lucky. my mechanic informs me it has an Autothority Stage 2 chip. i have some older info on the chip that quotes HP increase of 36, not able to determine accurate torque number. please advise, what is HP and torque on these? should i keep it? love the car and the way it flys.
And wher can i get an Owners Manual, the car is missing it. thanks

Looks like a great car. My '86 951 came with a similar Autothority chip installed. While the car did have a little more get up and go, I ultimately decided to revert back to the stock chips. Runs smoother now but less seat of the pants acceleration.

I have the same car, albeit, with fake 17" turbo twists, to fit the big reds up front. Mine came with Lindsey chips in both the DME and KLR. No idea on HP. I have the original chips if you are interested in them. And, don't apologize for the guards red, THE best stand-out color for a 944!!

thank you Bmuldoon and grenadiers, i appreciate defenders of the GR. i agree it looks great on these cars. at this point i'll be keeping the chip and looking into cat bypass, exhaust upgrade options, that's all.

I did 259 whp and 282 wtq with Autothority Stage 2 on a k26/6.

Ignore the broken CV which cut boost to nothing at 5200rpm.
