I've got a working k26/6 with minimal shaft play. Ran well on my car.

If that's the case then it might be that one in a million case that it looks bad but isn't. Especially since the turbo is boosting normal. Just interesting. It's better to be safe though.
I can't tell if you're trolling or being serious.

I'm going to replace the turbo, change the oil/filter and flush the intercooler. The flaming can stop now.

I don't think the flaming was intended for you obviously you don't have much experience with 951's it was the other guy that suggested to you to keep using that turbo that is epic.

I didn't think it was, but yes, this is my first 951 and I'm a novice mechanic learning everyday.

You may even want to go a little bigger than stock, Lart had a few big turbos for sale recently.

You'd need a few supporting mods, like a MAF, but personally if I had to spend 8 hours replacing a turbo, you'd better believe the stock on isn't going back on. ( yes, it'll take you that long, especially if you're a newbie around these things )

If you go bigger you would need new chips and 3 bar FPR to match the turbo. Better to just replace it with the same one for now. Your going to find out how much fun we all have had replacing the turbocharger. Your vocabulary may become very colorful during that job.

I already have the LR chips and. 3 Bar regulator, I will also b installing a 3" exhaust soon. I might explore my options for a little larger turbo.
