Default Rear Hatch Removal

Hello, I used to have a rennlist account years ago and I can't remember any of my credentials now so here goes. I'm trying to switch the rear hatch between two of my 944's and have more or less figured it out besides one thing. I know how to actually remove the glass from the car but I can't see how to disconnect the rear tail lamp and windshield wiper from the car. I see that the rear tail lamp can be disconnected at the source but the leads would have to be pulled through the tube attached to the brim of the hatch to remove, and surely you wouldn't have to thread the wire back through the tiny tube to change hatches. If anyone could help me find the connector or source of the light and wiper it would be greatly appreciated!

trace the wire from the brake light to the driver side "C" pillar where the wire disappears.
remove the rubber grommet and pull the wire out some more, there is a white plastic cylindrical connector to disconnect and remove the hatch assy.

Before you pull the wire out of the C pillar, tie a sturdy piece of string to it (about six feet lont). It will give you something to help pull the other one into the C pillar.

For idiots like me...

The other end of the connector is down by the sunroof motor. Disconnect it there, then attach a string and pull it through the hole at the top of the C pillar. Other end of string should remain by sunroof.

No need to remove interior panel that covers the back speaker.
