I may have a supplier of Audi NOS .68 5th gear sets.

Not sure which gear set you are referring, but .68 is a huge boat anchor of a ratio.

It is a gearset for 5th gear out of certain Audi diesels that will fit in our cars.

It drops the RPMs at cruising speed, increases gas mileage, and if you have the horsepower to drive it, it will increase top speed.

Several people have talked about ways to accomplish these goals and some have been looking into a custom R&P at a cost of several thousand dollars. This is a much cheaper alternative.

Do you know how much the rpm will drop compared to the stock 5th gear?

multiplication;

example; you got a 0.73 gear and you swap to a .68 gear....

old rpm X 0.68 divided by 0.73 = new rpm.

Stock 951 5th gear is .828

One of the guys who did a V8 swap put these gears in his 951 trans and saw 2250 RPM at 70 MPH.
