Billet bumper shock deletes
I'm going to make a set of 951 front bumper shock deletes and can't find info if they are the same as NA shocks so I can make multiples. Can anyone confirm?

Part catalog shows two different part numbers for fronts.
951 505 015 00 impact absorber
944 505 017 03 impact absorber
Being that the body shell is the same at the location where the flange bolts to the chassis, I'd assume that's it either a) end to end length from flat mount flange to bolt eye or b) a dimensional difference at the bolt eye width, each of which could be made adjustable to fit both by design.
Unless your billet replacement keeps the fluid controlled compression, making a functioning replacement that is lighter, I don't see why these would be desirable. We just relieve the fluid by drilling a small drain hole, then mount them in a chop saw and cut away the entire housing and piston leaving minimal weight at the fronts. Don't even bother at the rear since that's where you always end up needing weight on a lightened car to attain correct F/R. By "correct", I mean tweaks that make these cars corner optimally.

That's what I recall. I remember moving the thru bolts back an inch or so to get the modded NA bumper recessed for TPC's smoothed bumper.
Has anyone drilled/lightened the 951 alloy bumper insert?

Don't mean to be rude, but do you have any thoughts on the safety ramifications of what you are doing by drilling the bar and putting non collapsible ends on? They are there to absorb impact and to save frame rails in the case of an impact. Again no disrespect intended.

Row bumper mounts are non collapsible.
