Default Wire Identification Help

Noticed these wires under the hood today, they look like factory wires since they are coming out of the factory bundle. However the PO spliced into them with butt connectors and I guess removed whatever was there since they now connect to nothing.

Anyone know what these are supposed to connect to? I've got an 86' 951...

Mine is hooked up. It runs under the intake down behind the turbo and ties into the harness where it can't be seen. Might be possible to spot it underneath the car, I will check tonight when I'm doing ball joints. As for wiring I looked through some diagrams briefly but did not spot anything similar to those colors that made any sense.

The big red/black wire is for the starter solenoid, the blue wire sort of disappears. More than likely the PO ran different wires as they appear to be a hassle to replace the way it is routed and covered with plastic. As long as it turns over ok I imagine he wired if correctly although I wouldn't hesitate to check and make sure it isn't rubbing somewhere it shouldn't. Let me know if you find the replacement blue wire, I'm curious as to what it goes to.

Looking through factory service manual the blue wire goes to the alternator. Odd they ran both wires in that harness.

The red/black one goes to pin 4 of the DME if that helps...
