Default Double-Din

Has anyone tried or put a Double-Din in the slot for a radio? I know the common aftermarket replacement is just a regular single DIN but I would like to install Double DIN if possible, Just wanted to see if anyone has done this.

Me too. Some crossbrace cutting is required.

I have found out that all that is needed to cut out the cross brace. Wondering what the depth of your unit is. Looks very good!!! Can't wait to get mine installed. Exhaust first though.

I was stuck in dead stopped traffic at 3 AM on my way to South Carolina on a long road trip and watched 3/4's of Gladiator. Also use the screen as a backup camera, but the best is the GPS feature, that I use on a regular basis. So yea it does get used. Makes browsing through songs or phone numbers really easy...

I must admit, The screed does fill it in nicely. The only time i'd put a screen in my car, is if i could use it as a HUD for gauges also.

I love how the double din fits in these cars and I installed one in my A4 because of the nice fitment and its easier to navigate through to different songs or any other features your HU comes with. If you get one with navi then they are amazing. I just went ahead and took the plunge on this bad boy. Got the sirius XM tuner for it as well because who doesnt love Sirius XM. This unit adjusts the angle of the face to help out with sun glare. This is the Pioneer AVH-X5600BHS if anyone was wondering. Gonna throw it in this weekend, should come in on Friday. I will post pictures of the install this weekend.

I would have never considered putting in a double din before, but now with Apple CarPlay coming out I have been thinking about taking the plunge. They do look quite at home in the center console when installed well.

Pauly this might suit your needs for a HUD sort of. Not a double din but still looks cool
