Oil capacity with Lindsey 3x oil cooler
Does anyone know the total oil capacity with the big lindsey 3x oil cooler installed? I'm talking pan, lines, cooler, and filter. I'm guessing 10+ quarts? Or another way to ask, how many more quarts does the internal volume of the cooler and lines add?

I have and don't really know. The engine had oil in it when I put it on. I added a couple of quarts at a time until I reached the full mark. Some where around 4 quarts. You cannot empty the cooler when you change your oil unless you disconnect the lines so you really never change all of your oil out at one time.

thanks bob, 4 sounds right. ill be filling a totally drained system, I planned so start with 10 quarts and be prepared to add an extra quart or two.

When I do an oil change I seem to wind up putting in about 6.5 to get back up to the full mark on the stick. It's been a few years since I installed the cooler (I got one of the first ones) but I don't remember it taking more than 2 to fill it? (I was paranoid about sucking up air when the tstat opened so I filled it before connecting the last hose.)
