Default Is this right? TT bearing pic

I dropped the trans yesterday, what a b***... I can't see how I'll put it back in place... Anyway, This is what I can see inside the torque tube. Is this correct? Grease outside of the bearing? I thought that these are closed type bearings. TT is going out anyway, I have nice low mileage one to swap, just curious.

Yep, bad bearing... the grease is supposed to be *inside* the bearing.

Agreed.

Steel shielded bearings are not exactly closed to the environment or vice-versa.

Shameless plug.

Since Constantine has graced this thread with his presence I must say that I am very VERY impressed with the quality of his rebuild torque tube with 4 Super Bearings and a brand new driveshaft that I purchased a little while back...best money I have ever spent on this car.

Aaaaand back to your previously scheduled programming...

Ethan
