Glad you found the problem. You could always idle the car to temp with the garage door open, and spray a bit of starting fluid in the suspect area to see if it worked.

Thanks Hot. Things should clear up in a few days.

Finally had a chance to drive the car and the leak is back. Same place as before, leaking on the intake side of #1 runner. Time to take it apart and take it to a machine shop to confirm flatness.
Any other ideas?

It's the throttle return spring plate that is hitting the top of the turbo. I will be relocating it like a few others on this site.

Can you comment on the differences you saw on the 2 housings? performance wise?

Been meaning to dyno tune the car, so nothing concrete yet. I am happy with the change.

How much sooner does boost come on at the moment? just curious at the moment.

Would be good to see the 2 housing against eachother.

From what I have been told, all else being equal, it should drop the spool up approx. 300-400rpm.

What mount are you using for the turbo, modified stock? Surprised that you have opted for that turbo/housing. I ran that on my old stockish 2.5ltr and while it really spooled very nicely, it seemed to fall a bit flat in the upper rpms. Be interesting to see your comparitive dynos?

Modified factory mount. Very happy with the turbo. It's just a bit big so while putting it back on I probably have some adjustments moved a bit. I run that on a 3.0. My goal is not max hp/dyno queen but a good system with excellent spoolup.

I can imagine you have very good early to mid range response! Please show the dyno chart when you get it.
