Is the 2011 the 328 with the twin turbo 4 banger? I rented a 528 sometime around then with a twin turbo 4 cylinder engine and drove it half way across the Midwest and back. It was a wonderful car on the road and I didn't realize it was only a 4-cyl until after I popped the hood half way thru the trip and stared in dis-belief. I thought it was the straight 6 with a little more pep. I drove over 2000 miles, city/hwy, cruising at 75 with the ac on, donuts in the parking lot just to see if it could and how well, etc - overall gas mileage was 38 mpg(!!!).
There were so many electronics and so little time I didn't realize I had it in economy mode the whole time and never got a chance to put it in sport mode (I did switch off the engine stopping at the stop lights - way annoying). It had plenty of power in economy mode, which makes me wonder how much more fun it would have been in sport...

Three Wheelin'
The E36 is a great platform, easy to maintain, handles great and there are tons of parts out there both new and used.
If you get an E36, I still have a few nice parts left from my E36 M3 race car (just want a young son and his dad need). Rear stop tech's calipers and rotors, motorsport engine cross brace, new spec clutch. I also have some stock M3 stuff, gauge clusters, M3 boot and shift ****, switches and other typical stuff you strip out of nice street cars to turn them into race cars.

Mom's always win when it comes to their babies - 2013 Toyota Highlander Limited, white and tan, so he can pull his SeaDoo. I fought a good fight for him

Ouch. The good news is that all she did was delay the inevitable, if he was hot for an enthusiast car before he'll really be hot for it now that she coerced him into a Highlander.

Another waaay nice first ride. I'm glad my kids don't know your kids. Solid choice in the Highlander though, it'll be with him for the next 20 years if he so chooses. Those things run forever.

Burning Brakes
it's a shame about that transmission but 15 grand for a stupid clean 39000 mile M3 is not a bad price.
I have a 97 that was nothing but a ball of problems but then I just went out and bought a 98. It's like a bad relationship and I'm a glutton for punishment. The cars are just too damn fun.

Update - sorry been so busy - White Highlander had a slight ticking noise that even the service guy wasn't sure of so backed off.
Monday - picked up a 2011, CPO, 328i, white, blk leather, prem package, light package, brand new Mich RFT, Mint wheels/paint/interior. I'll post a pic when I can, giving it to him Saturday as early B-day present.

Got the Sirius/XM hooked up, having trouble with garage door opener programming...had to have the tires rebalanced at my local shop and on the way home, I discovered a couple of small issues - dealer corrected the next day - car so far has been golden and I put it through it's paces around the lake the other day, the auto/manual shift works pretty well when playing with it.
