Default ball bearing turbo replacement for k26/6 ??

garret gt30r (3076) .58 a/r will not bolt up directly, needs to be clearanced on exhaust side slightly and on turbo pedestule mount. you will also need to get oil feed lines and mounting adapter. Don't forget to tune. also need to change the flange on upipe. if you want something plug and play thats ball bearing, it won't last long, it will be hybrid... etc.. get something new, or leave it alone and free up your exhaust, remove cat, get a larger intercooler, get rid of the old cycling valve and change your wastegate. get the right chips you want , right fuel and right timing (fixed unless you know what to do)

Check out lindsey racing. The super 48 or 53.
I agree with The above comment there are a lot of things you can do before changing the turbo. I changed the waste gate and put a 3" exhaust and I'm happy with the improvement. Changing the turbo is expensive.

Call Charlie at Evergreen, you will be glad you did and it will bolt right up.

Precision 5558 with their new K26 .82 hotside should bolt right up.

I have a turbonetics stage III hybrid bought in 2001 still perfect and I love it. Quick spool and good power. It is on a daily driver. Never had an issue. It was from your area, Huntley Racing in San Diego. Went down and picked up from Derek.

That being said, the drop in GT35 Charlie built for Devon a couple weeks ago looks very tempting, although I would go a bit smaller.

If you want better spool and a bit more top end, may I suggest a maf kit ie m tune. This will make a dramatic difference especially on a stock car with an exhaust.

As others have said there is a lot more to a turbo upgrade than just bolting on a turbo.

Why do you think it sounds laggy? It's a modern 50trim/Stg3. The turbine wheel is essentially a redesigned Stg3 wheel with more swept vanes. The cold side is the same size as a 50trim only machined from billet and once again has been improved upon. Go look at the results nize posted (https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...er-tuning.html) of his 50trim/stg3/#10 replica purchased from Pauer (unfortunately the pictures are gone, but the text still has the data points). If anything this will spool faster and make more power.

Duly noted.... But u still need to free up the exhaust and have correct tune regardless.

whats the difference between a Billet wheel and compressor wheel? Thanks for all the great feedback members. I just read that a ball bearing turbo would start to spool earlier then the journal bearing
