$330 for the complete 25k mile engine. I picked it up yesterday. It looks good, but who knows... it’s from a salvage yard, and the car is gone already.
The last one I bought was a local CL find. I think he said it had 124k miles. Looking at the cylinder bores and cam surfaces, it did not have any visible wear. I think these are good little engines. The only reason I picked up a second engine is I prefer the updated timing chain setup, and when I put a TTRS forged crank in it, it will have the 8-bolt flywheel mounting pattern. It’s a lot more money for that crank (~$1000 extra), but in the grand scheme, not a huge difference for the extra piece of mind.
I’m going to run the 124k engine in a Chumpcar (or endurance racing of some sort).

$2-300 is a good price for a "toy" engine just to tear down and learn everything about the design and use for fitment.

Jeff, sorry I haven't gotten back to you about this yet. I had to skip a couple "garage nights", but I think I'll be at my buddy's shop this Wednesday. So, I'll try to get you some answers about fitting the 07K in the back of an old 911. I will probably follow up with you via PM to keep this thread more focused on the 944 07K stuff.
That would be great! No rush because I'm working on a garage remodel before the car comes apart, so I have time

We're not quite ready to announce final pricing on everything. But... to give you a ballpark estimate, I think we will be around $4k for my parts:
- engine mount brackets and isolators
- iAbed billet oil adapter block with fittings
- iAbed billet valve cover
- iAbed billet PS pump mount and my 944-specific bracket
- bell housing
- pilot bearing adapter
- intake manifold
- exhaust manifold
- modified stock oil pan (not incl. core charge).
A la carte pricing (like if you don't buy the whole kit at once) will probably be slightly higher, but nothing crazy.
I think the cost of a turbo 07K swap is going to be very competitive with an LS swap of comparable hp. Obviously, an NA swap will be thousands less unless you dive into modified internals like that 9000 RPM IE engine...

That was sort of my thought process as well. Like, I couuuld rebuild the top end of my NA 2.5, but at what cost? More oil leaks, unreliable crumbling plastic parts, and old/outdated everything else? I'd have to pull mine as well to do a valve job, so this is an investment I couldn't pass up.

Mines a 2010, would highly recommend anywhere in that ball park. Waaaay less rust, and if you pull it yourself you have the added benefit of potentially less miles.
