Sorry for the confusion, in this case by PS I meant passenger side. This is an engine mount bracket, not power steering. I’ll post pics of it installed on the engine and in the car soon. I will provide mounting hardware with my brackets.

Oh okay, so I guess it bolts around were the accessory bracket would be? Also the bracket looks real nice!

I was going to say, that's one odd looking power steering bracket; looks like a damn good engine mount though!! Exciting stuff!

Once we have a complete kit ready I'd be willing to consolidate a full instructional write-up on the swap from a consumers point of view (with lots of pictures, hosted here of course) for people to reference. Thoughts from the peanut gallery?

Here’s a better pic. It was sitting sideways on the bench in that last one. This pic shows the proper orientation.

Spencer, thanks for the offer. I do plan to document how this all goes together, and I think that Boost Brothers Garage will also be recording video of the installation in one of their 944’s.

I dropped her in tonight and it’s sitting on my mounts. I need to tweak the design slightly but overall I’m pretty happy with the fit. Tomorrow I’ll put the hood on and see if I have the clearance I’m hoping for.

Truely awesome. Maybe we can get someone to figure out an oil dip-stick mod once everything is in place. Just, ya know, for organizing reasons; I see it sticking out waaaaay over near the brake booster 😂

Thanks everyone. Yes, this should be really easy to work on compared to a 944. And coming out of an LS swap, I'm really glad we can keep the factory vacuum brake booster. Hydroboost was such a PITA.

What I find really encouraging is that I think we'll be able to keep the steering rack in the original location, and use the stock cross member. I'm still going to make a 3-piece for myself and anyone else who wants one, but it should not be necessary. So, that saves some $$. Nothing is certain yet, as this all depends on how the oil pan modifications "pan out" :-) But, there's a tiny bit more room than I thought, so that's better than less room...

At the moment, the engine is sitting about 3 - 5mm too high for the hood to clear the valve cover (and the front coil pack, which I installed later). So, I'm going to make some design changes on my mounts, and re-make them. At the same time, I will make any changes needed to accomodate iAbed's oil adapter block. And iAbed's valve cover is lower, which also helps. I'm going to get one of his valve covers to test fit asap.

Overall, my impression is that it is amazing how well this engine fits... it's almost like VW planned for it to go in a 944, but not quite (oil pan...).

Look at how the timing chain housing follows the curvature of the 944 firewall.

can the stock steering shaft accomodate say 1/4" spacers between stock crossmember and chassis?
