On my car which has a custom front end modeled after the stock setup there's only about 7-8" from under the rails to the bottom of the bumper/ body line (ground clearance)

Your 9+ IC might drag.

Thats about what I was thinking as well. One issue though is on the drivers side the AC dryer is in the gap behind the headlight, and on the passenger side the washer tank and headlight motor block access. My car will still be a street car so I’m keeping these. The dryer is easy to relocate, and I’m thinking of having the hot boost come forward low into the bottom corner of the intercooler like this. Thoughts?

Awesome, thanks Joey. I think we might have 9 now including yours. Next weekend we should have the welding fixture ready for the upper pan, and weld up the prototype. If all goes well, I’ll pull the trigger on getting the 10 pans machined, and order a run of sheet metal parts.

I will be picking up the completed bellhousings next weekend. Anyone who would like to take delivery of it at the Fest, I will refund the shipping cost you paid.

Come on Spencer, just track your 4Runner.

Uhhhhg I soooo want to, but I'm not sure if that thing would hold up to track abuse after 11 hours of straight driving😅

Craig, I think I like that. It’s been a while since I’ve had A/C or a washer bottle! I’ll see if I can find someone with a stock 944 to look at those clearances. I also want to look at routing the IC pipe from the turbo like you’re suggesting.

To V2Rockets point, I’ll also look at the available height for the IC.

Alan if you PM me with specifics I can get some numbers for you, I'll be looking into IC options anyways in the future for my NA car, so it'll be worth my time.

Sweet. Looking forward to seeing your blue car again. I don’t know if we met last year. I’ll find you this time.

Looking forward to it, AND I can attest that the Manual headlight latches Stay latched at 135MPH... When I get a better exit out of T1 at Watkins, I will Test them at 140MPH :-) Love those!

Thanks! Already tested on my car to about 150 at VIR. They’re not going anywhere.

Default Intercooler

From my measurements it seems 6-7” is the max intercooler height, as V2Rocket mentions to go higher will require cutting and lower will push below the valence. Depending on front valence (mine is early) you can probably fit 3.5 or 4” thick in there.

30” wide to end tanks will fit, but looking for someone with a 951 to see how much room there is between the brake ducts. The cooler can be offset to the left a bit to make our plumbing arrangement work - are any of you thinking of keeping an air/oil cooler in the stock 951 location?

Mike and I will be at the shop tomorrow night, so we can get measurements relative to his 951 front end and brake ducts.

Here are some updates:

As I mentioned a couple days ago, bellhousings are complete and powder coated. I am pulling together all the other parts that will be shipped with them. I just got the pilot bearing adapters yesterday, and need to inspect and test fit them to make sure they are correct. I should have the pilot bearings and hardware in a few days. I’m planning to ship them late next week. If you’ve put down a group buy deposit, but haven’t placed your order on boostbrothersgarage.com, we are finally ready to go.

Our first cast aluminum intake manifold is complete and on its way to me. Overall I’d say it looks pretty good for a prototype, but there are some things they need to fix before doing a production run. It’s been a long time coming, but we are getting close!
