something to think about.
hmm, maybe it could be made from something like these perforated SS sheets. Any idea what hole size to use?

On all of the newer TSI engines Audi/VW no longer use valve cover gaskets, they use a green anaerobic sealant, p/n D154103A1. I believe that's what Iroz has used on all of their engines with billet VC's. It's totally still removable, but it is expensive so it's not something you want to make a habit out of.

Issam should be able to recommend some stainless steel wool, he has used that in some block breathers he designed for older I5's.
I bet that sealant is what Issam was referring to. That could work, thanks for the part numbers Alex.

For breathers: the heavy duty diesels we work on just use a steel wire pack. It's heavier gauge than steel wool, but nothing special. For reference, the area is 2" x 4" and this is enough for a 14 liter diesel.

Guess I need to get some graduated test tubes and start working on an injector test bench .
Some 1 liter graduated beakers would probably do, or bigger if you can find any. Those 100 ml graduated cylinders might top off after a few seconds

Is there any reason why the stock gasket wouldn't work? is the footprint of the new valve cover now the same as the OEM vc? and if it isn't, could we not modify the stock gasket with like an exacto knife?

The first thing that came to mind for me was stainless column packing used in smaller stills for reflux before hitting the condenser:

It looks similar to the pack Cjar posted above so it should hold up well.

Went and had some fun at Alan’s this morning. Took a ton of product pictures and started putting together instructions. Even filmed a video, which we should be able to drop this coming Friday.

So just out of curiosity, where on that breather box is the hook up to a catch can? I don't see any ports on it. 🤔

As Mike and I were going through the installation process step by step, we found some hardware that was not quite the right length, and some missing for the PS pump mount and valve cover. So, I have it all on order and should arrive on Tuesday.

In regards to the breather box, it is a -10 AN port (o-ring boss fitting). I'm not sure what everyone will want to use (90 degree fitting or banjo?) so I'm not including that fitting with these kits.

Thank you Mike for the awesome camera skills. It was really cool watching the process of taking professional quality product photos. Now we just need to get the boost brothers store up and working!
