I have been detailing cars professionally for about 10yrs now and seen it all....maguiers is by far the best on the market that you can buy at any parts store.
for carwash, use any type of automotive wash, never dish detergant or simple green....takes the wax off because wax it just a fancy type of grease. always dry your car with a towel, never a shammy, they trap dirt and can scratch your finish.
simple green diluted about 50/50 gets grime and dust off the wheels great and is also great for stains on carpet and cleaning the interior, and leather seats (spray it on and use a soft brush to scrub them)
for leather, you want somthing thick to message into the leather, again maguiers makes a great leather cleaner/conditioner.
for wax, maguiers #6 cleaner or gold class is really good in the paste formula. and for any tar or tree sap, use wd-40 or a silcone spray on a rag to remove.
as far as windows, get a foam type spray without ammonia and use papertowels.
for shine, spray types on the tires, and vents on the dash along with a maguires spray shine on a towel or rag and then on the dash.
dont forget to use old toothbrushes or paint brushes for cleaning the vents and cracks along with compressed air guns to blow dust from the vents and cracks in the car.
hope this helps you out,
there is nothing like a shiny clean car that you just detailed....the tough part is keeping it that way.

I also would recomend the products from Griots Garage. Since using their stuff my car has never looked better. They even have a round fabric travel kit that is guards red! (ok maybe not exactly guards red...but close).

IMHO Griot's Garage is WAY overpriced and their products are only moderate. Point in case: they sell a Porter-Cable buffer for $200 when you can easily find the exact same model for $120-$130 anywhere else. What's the deal with that???

I think some of you are assuming our new friend actually is a girl. I suspect a guy trying to get as many replies as possible. Whatever.
As for my wax recommendation, I have no idea what's best. Turtle wax works fine for me, and I probably couldn't tell the difference between that and whatever.
I hate crap that makes plastic shiny, and put some leather stuff on my seats every year or two, although it never seems to make a difference.
I'd rather be driving than polishing!
