balsy move; 993 Xenon lamps all the way !!
next; don't be timid; take a sawz-all right to those fenders and never look back.
or, I can stop by and cut 'em all for ya and set them up for spotwelding [once you pick up the 993 fenders].
btw, while my V8 swap is going on, you can ask Eric Hill about making lightweight copies of mine
and save yourself a ton of work...
I'm fairly sure he can do it.

the hardest part is making good cuts and lining up everything for the nice welds.
measure everything 2~3 times/cut/weld once, etc.
the finish/sculpting that follows is an adventure, but with a fine reward.
can't imagine how good 993 HID lamps will look with those sweet flares.
a good body man will use his expertise to cut, curve and fit his sheet metal to order; but the way I went at it would by no means be considered the
'right' way, or how a professional would perform the work.... but, I'm not an experienced body man, so I felt the best way to do it was to swipe a
couple of good front sections from a pair of bent/smashed up 993 fenders (cheap)... DC Auto had the fenders.
I began by cutting out an opening in the 968 fenders... next, i eliminated a bit of excess sheet metal from the 993 lamp support baskets....
thus allowing them to be inserted inside the 968 (fender cutaways)... the easy part....
next, the 968 fenders were split behind the initial cut into 3 - 13"~14" long strips, which opened up and as they were raised to match the height of the
993 section (behind the lamp sockets) to form the new surface.... next, these split sections were capped with a pair of tapped down metal sheets,
welded on and grinded down to almost flush with the new surface (not pretty/but the horror will soon pass).... no need to grind too much. better to leave
the welds intact as much as possible.... and since the sub-filler is going to cover everything anyway....
the next step was to choose a stable sub-filler.... could have went with kitty hair/tiger hair,
but, I chose Devcon because it's rated at 3600 psi (nice) and very stable... and then a liquid/filler mix at the surface.
then lots of (endless) sculpting/applying more resin/more sculpting.
and hopefully a good result....

OD I am the good body man! I'll handle it no sweat, And yes, I'm tired of trying to get responses from D9 so when they are complete, I will be keeping the metal one of my car and I promise molds WILL be made. 968 fenders with 993 light conversion should not be as hard to get as the are currently, so I plan to fix this.

sounds great.
btw, you can't run HID lights with the D9 fenders, as they're angled way too low/(flat) to accommodate the 993 Xenon lamp housings..... the D9 fenders can only support the outer lenses.... then, you have to fab up your own halogen or HID light support baskets/housings.

So I've finally had time to resume after picking up a better candidate. 993 fenders are being made to be reproduced. You will notice on the finale product that the 968 body line stays intact and doesn't get distorted at the same time keeping the proper angle for 993 factory headlamps. This wasn't easy! Although I'm having issues uploading photos for some reason...
