Default '951 2.8 options

I'm looking at putting a new motor in my '87 951. I think I want to go with a 2.8. I've seen the options from Huntley, but any other ideas or experiences?

Thanks,
Matt

If you're interested, I just so happen to have a spare 3L crank available for sale (if you wanted to stroke the motor to 2.8L)

With a 2.8L you should be making 400+ HP (as I saw on a HR car) with turbo, MAF, etc. That particular car is to date my favorite 951 - nice paint, stylish body modifications, nice wheels, tint, 450ish HP, great sounding exhaust... and a nice rich burgundy color... drool (the drool stops the day my car is done, <grin>)

Before the thread gets completely hijacked, I guess I should be more specific.

I want something that can reliably produce 350-375 rwhp on crappy CA 91 octane pump gas. 400+ rwhp when needed. Something that can make the 500 mile trip to Vegas.

I'm not really interested in building the motor myself, which is why I would like the options to order up a completely built motor.

The 2.8 should provide a little bit of extra low-end grunt for around town driving as this will be my daily driver.

One of our HR-TC-500 motors will fit the bill easily. A 2.8 ltr big bore motor at 15 PSI with standard induction parts (MAF etc..), and Ca. **** water 91 OCT, makes 375-400 HP at the wheels and more with aftermarket injection. The same motor at 20 PSI will make 430-480 HP. The other option is to go with a HR-TC-600 3.1 ltr motor which adds roughly 30-40 HP to the above motor.
