OK, couple of winners!
Its a quick disconnect the mounts in the same hole that the stock wiring harness used to pass though.it will be mounted from the inside of the firewall.
I am installing the first one in the 968 cab as a test for the track car project this winter. I want to set up the track car so I can pull the engine in under an hour.
The connector has 47 terminals, I am using 45 in the current set up (lots of engine sensors).
The reason it has the angle is that the connector would hit the back of the head if it was straight.
in addition to all that...it looks pretty slick!

Ha! Nice. Funny I play with those connectors at work....except they are cadmium coated....known to cause cancer in the state of California Good thing only in California.
Are you going to post pics of the install?

I have been thinking about this for many years but the cost kept me from doing it, with the big build of the track car coming up I finally decided to do it. Just the special tool to crimp the terminals was $250!!
the 47 pin connector materials - $150
Machining the aluminum fitting - $240
Labor to do all the crimping - 3-4 hours
Crimping tool - $250
yeah, it all adds up pretty quick!!!

Quality work!!
where are you placing the bulkhead fitting? With the 16v head there is not much room at the stock location.
BTW - for those that have not stared at the Deutsch catalog for hours, the black fittings are the motorsports line - lighter but more expensive. I went with the heavier duty version, a little cheaper and more robust.
again - very nice harness work!
