Injectors fire, but still no spark
Cleaned grounds for good measure no real corrosion
Tested coil per Clark's Garage - seems okay
Tested speed and reference sensor resistance - both good
Bypassed KLR terminal 9-16, still nothing

Well sounds like testing the DME is the logical next step. The ignition driver on the DME may be burned out. In the thread below, see info about how to replace the dead transistor if you are comfortable working on electronics like that.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!

It started!

I've had the DME open sitting on the carpet this whole time, inspected solder joints, resoldered some etc.

After reading the other thread you linked I unfolded the DME and touched up the connections to the transistor with the soldering iron. Plugged the DME back in and she fired right up!

I can't thank Tom and Pauly enough. I've been pulling my hair out trying to track the problem down.

Great news! Sounds like your original diagnosis was spot on, but very happy to hear you were able to narrow it down to the offending DME component so you could fix it yourself and save the $500 and week of down time. It's a great feeling when you find and fix something like that -- congrats! Pics for posterity would be good if you took any...

Took the car out for a drive today and it came back on a flatbed.
Replacement DME has been ordered from ECU Doctors.

$300 for a reconditioned unit, $400 core.

They will also repair and return your unit for $350.

Both carry a 5 yr warranty.
